My Voice Experience

Although I have never had an official job doing voice-overs, I am a confident public speaker, taking part in various presentations in filled rooms without a micro-phone and keeping people entertained. I have also studied expressive arts in school which involved practicing varying speech and acting. As I studied theatre studies, i have learnt how to vary my voice to suit the mood and ambiance of the situation I am in, a skill I can recreate for voice-overs without any visual acting. I also debate which has led to my learning how to be concise, clear and convincing in what I say in order to get different reactions from the audiences and judges.

My Training

English Literature: Pate's Grammar school, St Joseph's Catholic High school. Reading different dialects and Old English as well as poetry, plays and novels out loud.

I have a laptop, microphone and music maker software which allows me to burn audio files which i have recorded myself with background music and files of my own making or remixing.

Additional Skills

I am a skilled public speaker, debater and extremely confident at reading from scripts after familiarizing myself with the content, meaning and therefore the best tone to express the message with. I currently work in retail which involves cultivating a calm, polite and yet attentive voice for telephone calls as well as a respectful, apologetic and / or caring voice for dealing with customers face to face.
