Voice Description
I have a bass-to-baritone voice which I can use to sound polished and professional (narrations,
serious commercials, voicemail messages, on hold messages, etc.), or I can sound "homey" and warm with a mild Southern accent. I was born in Georgia and have a mild accent which is
most evident when I'm around family, but I have intentionally trained myself out of it for when the need might arise.

My Voice Experience
I have only one "professional" credit, which is a 30-second radio spot for a business which was run on a local AM outlet for about a month.
I wrote the copy and timed it out myself, and I
accomplished a broadcast-quality performance on the first take.
I was a participant in the All-Virginia chorus in my senior year of high school (honors chorus comprised by auditions of all high school chorus singers in the state) and was an alternate in the previous year. I also was the non-speaking/on-camera talent in a TV commercial which aired locally.
Although my professional experience is almost nil, I have been told by many people over the years that I really should have been an announcer/performer of some kind because of my voice. I am completely confident that I can provide whatever voice might be called for in a given situation.
My Training
My only real training in voice skills came from
seven years of participation in chorus, where enunciation/sounding skills were taught. As I mentioned above, I participated in a state-wide honors chorus when a senior in high school, which involved training and conducting by a member of the famed Robert Shaw Chorale
(Donald Neuen).
In my capacity as a laboratory manager and
purchasing person in recent years, I have had
literally thousands of contacts over the phone
with company representatives/voice mails which required that I speak clearly and assertively in order to efficiently address purchasing/receiving issues.

Additional Skills
I have been working in the biomedical science field for over 20 years. Any voice opportunities which would be well served by a speaker with knowledge of scientific terminology/concepts
would be perfect for me.
However, I feel that I can perform any type
of voice-task which might be presented to me.
