Voice Description

In my 25 years of experience doing everything from 15 second promos to audio books and documentaries, I have been able to conform my voice to the job I am assigned to perform. It can be bouncy and fun for some commecials, deep and suspenseful for narrations or movie trailers, somewhat LaFontaine - like(God rest his soul)who has always been one of my great inspirations; smooth and warm for documentaries, corporate presentations and audiobooks.

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

Being born and raised in New York City to Puertorrican parents, I can speak fluent english and spanish. Some characterizations and accents I can perform include: Latin guy trying to speak english, english guy tying to speak spanish, british accent, australian accent, oriental accent, southern accent, urban accent, canadian,etc.
As far as impersonations go, I love to do the voice of Peter Cullen when he performes the voice of Optimus Prime in the "Transformers" movies; LaFontaine's voice when he used to do the movie trailers; Tom Hanks when he did Forrest Gump and some others that would take up some extra space to detail.

My Voice Experience

I worked for an FM radio station in Puerto Rico (where I lived for a while) for 12 years recording their image promos and some commercials. After this, I made the jump from radio to working for a television network for 10 years recording their image promos, commercials and some documentaries. All the while, doing some freelance work in Puerto Rico for clients like Sears, Little Caesar's Pizza (which I still do)and image promos for other radio stations in and out of Puerto Rico. I came to Florida in 2005 and have worked freelance for Zondervan Publishing where I have translated books and catalogs and recorded for them various audio books for auhors such as Max Lucado.

My Training

Although what I actually studied in college was Pedagogy with a major in english and social sciences, I found my vocation and calling when I started working in the FM radio station to help pay for my tuition. Got into a voice talent seminar to better myself. A man named Ramon S. Olivencia,a 40 year veteran at the time as anchor man in the most prestigious radio news show in Puerto Rico,took me under his wing as my mentor, showed me the ropes and always pushed me to be the best at what I did. He's no longer with us, but everything he taught me is still with me, and I still push myself to be the best I can be in this industry not just for me and my family, but to honor the memory of someone who could dance circles around me as a voice talent but told me that I had what it took to be the best.

My Studio Equipment

Here in Florida I have two friends who have their own studios. One has a Fostex Digital recording and editing Suite, and the other has a Mac powered Pro Tools HD system. Both really good systems. Both digital. Both use Audio Technica shock mount studio mics.

Additional Skills

I have additional experience such as: hosting radio and television shows,including news casting, MC at various events, copy writing material for commercials and image promos for radio and television, performing background vocals for musical projects in the studio as well as in live performances. For a while I sang lead vocals for a bilingual band in Puerto Rico.
I can play some musical instruments like guitar, bass, drums and percussion.
