Voice Description

My voice is warm and friendly, educated and precise. I sing mezzo soprano and so my normal speaking voice is not high and never squeaky. I pride myself on clear diction and a professional delivery though I can do lower, more sultry ranges and can pitch the voice to mimic child like and younger voices. Voice overs with humor are good for me as I am told you can hear the smile easily. While I am a southerner by birth my accent is quite neutral--unless you want to hear the Southerner! I have done a number of fictional character voices for readings from Charlotte's Web to The Hobbitt including cackling witches and haughty elves.

My Voice Experience

Currently Program Director of Radio Sandy Springs
Voice work daily for commercials, newscasts, interviewing and coaching of younger personnel.

Recently (raising kids), voice overs for video production business, reading for the blind, reading to children (in character), and constantly singing.

Formerly (before kids) on air talent at WBIR and WIVK, Knoxville, WKDA and WSIX, Nashville. 7 years in radio and commercial production.

My Training

With a Bachelor of Music degree in education and voice (with successful forays into theatre) and 7 previous years in radio and commercial production, I am currently doing daily on air work in radio and running the business end of a small video production company for which I function as music and vocal librarian as well as recording all the working soundtracks. I've also learned a great deal about voice over work from my three children who have been the best critics of the many voices I've created as we read through the years.
