My Voice Experience
Amusing my kids (do Grover!) Telling or reading stories where I do the voices to sound like each character and my mom voice is the narrator. Recording different funny voices on the answering machine, answering the phone myself with a weird character voice to scare off telemarketers. Played Scrooge's Cockney housekeeper in "A Christmas Carol- The Musical" American Theater company, Tulsa and acted in several other community theater productions. Decided to get some training in the industry so I could go pro.
Studied acting with the notoriously infamous Clu Gulager Intensive Acting Workshop in Tulsa, 1990. The most amazing learning and life changing experience of my life in terms of Stanislavsky and Strasberg. Thanks, Clu!
A shout out to Clu's son, John Gulager, Congrats on "FEAST" Project Greenlight with Bravo!
Studied vocal coaching and acting with Charles 'David' McCally, first Director of the Globe Theatre of the Great Southwest in Odessa, TX. He was in Tulsa in 1980. What this man taught me about the mechanics of using my voice, stage presence, and Shakespearean theater acting changed my life as well. My career in marketing and sales soared due to my enhanced self confidence, stage presence, and oratory skills, the foundation for making a great impression on clients with public speaking, proposals and presentations. Thanks, David!
American Broadcasting School, Tulsa, Oklahoma 2006 graduate. Mikki Taylor, a consumate professional who not only knows her stuff, but knows how to educate. Not only is she a great lecturer and instructor, she is a great mentor and friend. The education I got at ABS was awesome, and another of those life changing experiences that will take me to the next level. Mikki, you rock. Say hi to Bill, Gloria, and DC.
Created, wrote, and produced over 50 air quality grade commercials, highlighting my versatility and range. From serious and straight forward to comical and zany featuring characters from my crazy cast of 1000 voices. Researched, wrote, and produced news, weather, sports, traffic, features, on-air DJ. Created specific genre (all blues) or era (blast from the past all '30's and '40's) and seasonal (oooo, it's Halloween so let's all do the Monster Mash) radio programs.
