Voice Description

Warm and deep for narration, strong and wilful for powerful roles, quirky character type voices from flight butterfly voices to hissing snakes and scary spidery voices. Competent at both Cockney and the Queens english and general american accents. Am a very good mimic so am able to listen to voices and reproduce the sounds/accents. Have quite a large adaptable vocal range - quite deep and rounded to high and squeaky. Can also be official or relaxed and normal when required.

My Voice Experience

From Red-back spider voices, and bag-lady to the fire-safety authority, a rollerblading mamma and red-suited power woman this voice knows no bounds...Having worked in theatre-in-education and recorded a range of voice overs including a childrens story book 5 characters(Education Qld, Qld Government Advertisements - Fire safety authority, on hold messages, phone greetings and messages for answering services, and voices for short films. This voice has the adaptability of a shapeshifter. I have recorded a sample voice over cd aimed mainly at acquiring voice overs for advertisements.

My Training

Associate Diploma in the Arts. QUT Kelvin Grove Campus - voice electives.
Working in studios recording voice work with other voiceover artists - Miliamp studio.
B.Ed. special Ed. Griffith University - studied hearing impairment, in depth study into how the voice works and how to create sound.
Personal study with Accents - Worked through Speaking American by Bruce Shapiro.
Drama Queensland Conference - 1/2 day voice workshop - accents and voice production/ protection and projection.
On the Job training and practice - every job is a learning experience.

I am an actor and a teacher have worked with children and animals, adults, people with disabilities, international students and artists and believe it or not animals!! I understand how my voice works and I take very good care of it. I am very professional and disciplined, flexible and, dedicated. I love my work and relate well to most people. I Have worked in a range of jobs to support my career including but not limited to call centre work, box-poffice management (theatres and ticket sales)most jobs require me to not only use my voice in a variey of ways but to articulate and communicate well.
