I'm a black female who everyone believes is white over the phone. "Too white" is what I generally hear from friends and family. I have been in the military for 7 years and have been on both sides of the fence; that is a sergeant and now an officer. So I know how to sound harsh and strict, and now articulate, political and extremely cordial.

My Voice Experience

I stated the military part in voice description. But I should also mention that I am married and have 3 female children. At work I have to sound very authoritative, but at home I play a more submissive role with my husband, and a more friendly role with my girls. These are very different types of directions I have to come from; depending on who I am talking to and what the situation is. I bounce from Authoritative and Powerful to Humble and Submissive to Friendly and Gentle-all in everyday life.

My Training

My only training comes from how I had to portray myself as a femal sergeant for 5 years in front of various type of soldiers, to the demanding role as a female officer in front of various high-ranking male and female officers in the Army. And of course the gentleness but serious role parenting takes; which I have been for 10 years.

Additional Skills

Being a U.S. Army Officer I have plenty of down time. I have plenty of people who work under me, which allows myself to have a very stress free environment and more family time than I've had in my 7 year military career.
