My Voice Experience
I currently work for a conference call center as an conference operator. I have been with this company since 1999. Upon my employment, there were speach classes to be taken that are mandatory, these classes are taught by a speach therapist. These classes are given to help improve the quality of the operator's voice. And with these classes our voices are graded and I have always maintained a grade of above 90.
As an operator, we handle operator conference calls for companies such as: Hewlett Packard, IBM, Oracle, Merck, T-Mobile, Lenovo, Morgan Stanley, Bank Of America, Wachovia and so on. With these calls a script is read at the beginning of the call which introduces the call and the speaker to the participants that have dialed in to listen. Sometimes the script is our general script and then there are times that the company will send in a special script or a safe harbor script which is much more detailed and challenging than the general script and are only read by select operators such as myself.
My Training
I have also held a position as Facility Trainer in my present employment and with two other compaines. I taught training classes to "new hires," in a classroom setting. In this position I delivered many presentations,lectures, and sometimes reading material to the class from the manual without sounding monotone and dull.
I have also operated a Day Care Center where I taught children from ages 2 to 5. I mastered the art of holding their attention for at least 30 minutes. In things such as singing, storytelling, reading to them and simply being silly.
I have also delivered many speaches to Churches, and other groups of adults. And I have sang in the Church choir since I was 3 years old.
