Voice Description

I developed the ability to control my voice because my original goal was to do radio or TV news, so I was a Broadcast Journalism major and took speech classes because as a young person I had a southern accent that I had to learn how to control. I have recorded professional training presentations for insurance companies. I am able to change my voice and talk in various North American accents for character roles. I have the ability to speak in soothing, sexy sounding roles. I have the ability to change my voice when telling a story, for example I can speak in a southern twang then immediately imitate a voicemail operator voice. I am seeking a variety of different types of voice projects.

Impersonations: Samantha from Sex and the City (upscale sensual enunciations and tone), mechanical voicemail operator voice, southern Amway saleslady, sweet southern Mom, young spoiled California girl, Jersey Girl, Trailer-Park Tina, Ditzy Blonde, Minnesota no-nonsense business professional, and then I can also perform a straight, accent-free tutorial or narration for books on tape or educational projects.

My Voice Experience

I may not have as much professional experience that your other candidates may have, but I will have a freshness in the business and be able to follow instructions while still being creative and extremely easy to work with.

I have only done some radio work while in college, one auto dealer commercial for radio, and I have done instructional video voiceovers for insurance companies.

My main level of experience is on a personal level, which is why I have decided to become a voiceover talent, because I feel that I really do have a natural ability. I have had people tell me for years that I should get into voiceover work. I tend to impersonate peoples' voices in regular speech, without even realizing it.

My Training

Broadcast Journalism Major, TCU, Fort Worth Texas: broadcast speech classes for radio/tv/film, and regular speech classes, including public speaking.

I do not have any special studio equipment currently.
