My Training
Carl's introduction to voice culture began in 1990 through a Vassar College program at the renowned Poughkeepsie Day School.
His formal voiceover training took place with the Creative Voice Development Group in Schenectady, N.Y. under David Bourgeois and John Gallogly.
He has also attended The Voice Bank Seminar with Charles Michael in NYC.
In 2008, Carl had the opportunity to study with award winning voice actor; Joe Bevilacqua, a protege of Daws Butler.
More recently, Carl completed a SUNY course in voice and articulation instructed by Laura Kroll.

Additional Skills
Since 1995 Carl Welden has toured internationally as a one-man spoken-word performance artist utilizing a blend of character voices, instruments, masks and movement. He has served as a master of ceremonies for countless festivals and events as an on-stage host/announcer. He is presently a core member of Arm Of The Sea mask and puppet theater troupe as well as an occasional theater technician, visual artist and multi-instrumentalist.
He currently offers workshops focusing on vocal and physical presence in performance art applications.
