New at this. Pro Tools 10 and lots of plug ins. Currently working on a project where the vocalist is Australia, I'm arranging and orchestrating this project. I create the guide tracks with the melody, she creates a .wav vocal track and sends it to me, and then I create the final product. So I have to write the parts, record the parts, and then use the tools to compress, gate, excite, automation of mixing, as you can see the list can go on. Pro Tools is all encompassing, so everything can be done within that context. I've become a true composer with intense study of Bach, Fux, Ravel and others. I'm excellent at counterpoint which is the foundation of great compositions. I can quickly create a score with the knowledge tools of classical theory and practice. These tools are applied to all styles of music I work with and create. I can create an excellent product in minimum time.
