Voice Description

I had a teacher that once told me "Don't ever be afraid of your voice- even if that means sounding ugly!". I was practicing that rule even before I met her... I have a voice that people tend to remember, whether I'm being energetic and loud, sexy and warm, or dark and sarcastic. I have an excellent voice for comical narrations, professional demonstrations, or fun and whacky animation. I have a great Standard American dialect which is universal to every ear but I am also experienced in urban, southern, british, latin, and New York accents. I have a full length voiceover demo that I would be happy to send you via email or post mail exhibiting my different character voices as well as jingles.

My Voice Experience

I have extensive recording experience including soundtrack recording for childrens' musicals and jingles for Old Navy clothing and Glam Girls toys. I have a strong singing background (soprano/alto range) and have been recording original material for years. My experience in the recording booth has provided a strong education and a great ear for direction. My speech and diction training will allow me to execute a reading quickly and efficiently. It is my goal to show you that the money spent on my talent and dedication is a good investment for you and your company.

My Training

I studied at the prestigious Los Angeles City College Theatre Conservatory in Los Angeles, CA for 3 years. I received a certificate in acting and starred in the first musical play they had produced in over 20 years while in attendance, among many other productions. At this school I received extensive voice and diction training, movement training in relation to the voice, and became a master at the pheonetic alphabet. The on-camera training I received while in attendance also taught me a different kind of vocal control.

Additional Skills

Being a singer, I have a breath control and vocal resonance that many non-singers cannot produce. I am also a server at a high volume, fast paced restaraunt in the Los Angeles area. This job requires a large amount of skill in protecting your voice and knowing the best times to use it. It may sound funny, but the "Happy Birthday's" we perform at the job could tear your throat out if you didn't know how to use your voice correctly. I practice vocal warm-ups and do what I can with diet and exercise to keep my instrument protected at all times.
