My Voice Experience
I started in radio in 1978, but my voice was never actually heard on-the-air until 1980 after I graduated from radio school in Minneapolis, MN. Since then I have had either a full or part-time radio job my entire life.
I also built and operated a video production studio for Georgia-Pacific in Cedar Springs, Georgia for 5 years. I wrote, shot, narrated, and edited over 40 training videos during that 5 year time frame. In addition - I produced a weekly show, which was viewed on TV screens and on computer monitors all over the mill by the employees.
I am currently employed at Scenic Cable and Production Company in Dothan, AL where I shoot and edit video, write and perform voice-overs for a variety of clients, and do live sports announcing.
In addition, I have a complete recording studio in my home where I record music beds, voice-overs, jingles, audio books, podcasts, and on-hold messages for various clients.
My Training
1979 - Graduated A. D. Johnston High-School - Bessemer, MI.
1980 - Graduated Brown Institute - Minneapolis, MN. with a Radio/TV Broadcast Degree and Radio Sales Certificate. I also obtained an FCC Radiotelephone First Class License. The license is now called a General Class License and is valid forever.
I have been a musician since I was 3 years old and currently own and play several instruments including: Hammond Organ; piano; electric guitar; acoustic guitar; acoustic/electric guitar; steel guitar; and drums. I have all these instruments in my studio and use them for my work.
