My Voice Experience
Over 25 years of being "on the line" with radio, being part of small and medium market teams that had to utilise everyone on staff to accomplish large market sound. It's the type of training that isn't offered in schools, tech centers, or even in the broadcast world today. Several places used my voiced ads, promos, and positioners many years after I moved on.
My Training
Beginning with training at the Recording Workshop in Chillicothe Ohio (the launch of how to create the sound), many more additional years of being on staff with several radio stations, and some freelance TV overdubbing, and news and sports staff jobs give me some unique insights into the advertising and imaging world.
My Studio Equipment
Right now I work at home with my old Copy of Cool Edit Pro through the home studio computer, linked with the warm sound of some older radio studio mics and mixing equipment. I am also working with Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, Vox Pro and other audio software in local radio, and have access to a local radio production studio if there's a need for an even more "polished sound".
Additional Skills
I am a weekend air talent on a local 6,000 watt radio station, so I am around the current technology and marketing styles in use, as well as some up and coming services. I was on staff with a radio creative services team as a copy writer, helped with a weekly radio program (on the station of an ex-employer) in Grand Rapids Michigan, the assistant production director for Walton Media in Michigan, and have done voice overs for many Midwest and National voice over houses.
