Voice Description

My voice would be considered very animated with believable emotion. I can do many different characters. The Arab Shiek. The Southern Cowboy. I suppose it could be considered sexy and fun. People tend to laugh when I talk. I suppose I can really "get into character". Mel Blanc was one of my heroes growing up.
When I do the sincere voice, people say I sound like a "nice, honest, good guy". Which I suppose I actually am. :)
I can tell stories and play every character. People say they feel like they are actually listening to many different characters. I suppose I should add that Rich Little was also one of my idols. I can lots of impressions. John Wayne. Famous men. Actors. Politicians.
I suppose the main aspect of my voice is "believability".
Whatever character or voice I am doing. I sound genuine and believable. From the Boy Scout, to the Texas outlaw. I really enjoy playing the various characters. And I guess it shows in the reaction I get from people.

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

Boy next door, nerd, southen cowboy, boy scout, outlaw, sexy surfer in English. I can also do Indian, Pakistani, Russian, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, speaking in English of course.
In Japanese it would be a kamakazee or a samurai. Rough, tough, and ready to rumble.
In Russian I would be more of a bait and switch used car salesman. "Sure Comrad, whatever you need :)"
In Indian or Pakistani I would be the guy at the yard sale, always trying to talk you into a lower price.
The same with the Chinese or Japanese, I would be haggling with you every step of the way until you practically gave it away, just to get rid of me.
When the Cowboy and the Nerd have a conversation, you have a macho, southern redneck, talking to a naive, but super smart geek. Though they both speak English; neither has the foggiest idea what the other is saying.
I'm sure I do other accents, dialects, and characterizations, I can make them up as I need them.

My Voice Experience

I am working at a radio station and I do an excellent "weather". But I really enjoy the PSA's. And the commercials. Any time it involves children, I really put my heart and soul into it. We do PSA's for children in poverty. Children's charities. And others.
We have many different radio programs each day. And I love to try and impersonate each and every voice.
I do some demos for the other DJ's, and they get a kick out of them. Even the real people in the programs laugh when I impersonate them.
I have done narration for audio books.
I have a really popular online chat room with voice.
I don't want to sound vein or self centered. Because I'm not. But women say when I talk, my voice turns them on. I have no idea why that is. But I have heard it from quite a few gals. I have heard I have a voice that makes women "feel something good deep inside". What can I say, I get that feeling from some women I hear :)

My Training

I never had any "formal" training in voice overs. I just enjoyed doing various voices since I was a kid. I was considered the comedian in High School.
I'm currently working at a radio station; and they hired me knowing I didn't have a day of broadcasting school.
I really don't think my voice is all great. But others do. Especially women. I think my voice always has like a smile, or humor in it. People can feel it.
As a camp counsellor. I would tell the boys stories around the campfire. And they kept telling me to go on.
I believe I have some sort of gift of making people see the character in their mind when I talk.

Condenser microphones. Mixers. Adobe Audition. Audio special effects. MD (mini disk) recorders. Huge music collection. CD burning. High speed internet to upload commercials or PSA's in a hurry.
Good understanding of voice inflection. Sound effects. Volume levels. Sound quality. Mixing different tracks, and multiple tracks.
