Voice Description

Formal and elegant for voiceovers, but sexy as well. Warm and deep for corporate narrations, cold and flat for some other kind of presentations, though. Cool and natural for certain talents and voiceovers too.
I speak English fluently as a second language, in fact I majored in simultaneous interpretation, but definitely it's not my mother tongue, so it may have a particular latin accent without being the typical latin non-well pronounced English.
I also like to experiment with weird sounds in my voice. I'm quite open to it and willing to do totally new things. It's my passion.

My Voice Experience

Mrs. Voice first met me in short cinema radio promos for a former radio station, but then in a pre-recorded movies program that lasted approximately two years. Since then, such Mrs. Voice kept following me for many famous and not-so-famous personalities, like for example in Mexico: in my skin, body lotion Lubriderm-TV; in my mouth: McDonald's-TV, Sabritas Sunchips-TV, Danone-corporate English video; in my feminine pain relief: Syncol-TV; and moneywise: Banorte; and on bilingual hold messages for Mancera Ernst & Young and Adobe Systems. And for the hispanic world in the US: I kept tasting good things: Honey Bunches of Oats, Tyson, Taco Bell, Salsa Jalisco Griller (which was one of my most impressive meetings with that so-called Mrs. Voice, it had a big impact on my voice performance, just GREAT!) and some other fancy stuff like Bali Gym and Chapstick. Once I also did dubbing for a character of the TV series Summerland. Then, said Mrs. Voice became part of me, like another me and started doing some other interesting things like singing and experimenting with weird sounds. I started doing more corporate videos and the last thing I did was the Spanish version for the Blue Man Group show, it was a great experience because I traveled to NY to do it and had to match the text with music and rhythm. I'm willing to do totally new things, to explore other voice fields.

My Training

I studied for three years acting, dubbing, and voice speaking skills at a Voice Performance School in Mexico City with a renowned senior dubbing actor Esteban Siller. I took a course of radio art in the Radio Biennal 1999 with Iris Disse; then, I attended a voice character workshop in 2004 with Victor Manuel Espinoza. In 2005, I started taking singing lessons with a voice researcher and voice teacher John Loza and another wonderful spiritual voice teacher Hebe Rosell. I had the opportunity as well to attend a jazz improvisation workshop of a Mexican renowned female jazz singer Iraida Noriega and of the former incredible vocalist of the Screaming Headless Torsos Dean Bowman. In 2006, I went to Paris to attend a month-and-a-half course in a Voice Performance School Pantheatre, whole lot of vocal improvisation.

Additional Skills

As I said before, I have a degree in simultaneous interpretation, basically English-Spanish and vice-versa. I studied as well French and Portuguese but still working hard on them. I think that some exercises of that technique have helped me in the voiceovers and the other way around too. Moreover, I also do translations (written) of various topics, my strongest are medical, market research area, basic finance environment, and human resources subjects.
I'm singing with a band called le danzen in which I practice all my singing and improvisation ideas.
All the things I do are connected in a way that have helped me reach a good voice progress and still working, this is a neverending story.
