My Voice Experience

being a full time poet requires you to have one essential tool...a voice, which I have used to accomplish a lot my goals. I am the 2007 National Slam Poetry champion, ranked 13th in the world for slam poetry apart of writing my voice as been instrumental in accomplishing those goals. My voice is heard every week on the largest urban radio station in North Carolina(CBS radio WPEG). I have written and done voice over recording projects for M/I Homes, Junior Achievement. ESPN, Wachovia, North Carolina Blumenthal Performing Arts Center, WCCB TV a FOX station, WJZY, Fringe Festival(NY), Nuyorican, Bowery Poetry Club, UNCC ALUMNI TODAY, and numerous music projects, such as KRS ONE, EPMD, and ROYAL-TEE

My Training

I am a graduate of the University of North Carolina Charlotte and have most of my training through actual work experience, and mentorship from radio djs which have included music jocks to talk jocks.

I am an experienced writer. Having written and voiced work for major corporations to local music artist. My voice has a wide range, it can inflect almost any accent or no accent at all. I love poetry, and music of all kinds which allows me to keep a keen ear to what's hip for today, what the new sound of the future, and nostalgic melodies. Im a pop culture buff but still savvy about current social and political events. Being a father I have watched a slew of cartoons and know most every character, and incorporate them when I do storytelling. I truly enjoy being a voice over artist.
