My Studio Equipment
Dell Optiplex 960 workstation running WinXP Pro.
Adobe Audition with various VST plugins (mic and audio compressor emulations).
Shure SM-5B and SM-58 announce mics, ElectroVoice RE-50 interview mic, Audio Technica BP-4025 X-Y stereo mic.
Symetrix 528E voice processor (de-esser, parametric EQ & compressor).
Tascam US-122 USB mic preamp (often testing other analog -> digital interfaces).
Marantz PMD-660 digital audio recorder for nat sound, fine arts, and newsgathering field recordings to CF card.
Additional Skills
Decades of experience field-recording/location-recording music, and recording voice and nat sound for radio newsgathering. I am an audiophile and understand most audio deficiencies really _can't_ be "fixed in post," therefore it's vital to gather sound that's noise and distortion free from the get-go.
I will produce audio that's as dense as the client wishes, but my preference is lightly applied audio compression with no EQ unless necessary to pull the voice forward.
