Update – Thurs. Feb. 27, 2014, 10:21 am PST: We are very thrilled to report that the fix that was applied last night seems to be working and audition invites are being sent as usual again! We’ve also learned that not all accounts were affected by this bug, but if yours was, thanks again for your patience and we are sincerely sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused. 

Update – Wed. Feb. 26, 2014, 5:59 pm PST: We have fixed the bug and things should be returning to normal very soon! We are still monitoring the situation closely to ensure it’s resolved. Thanks for your patience.

Update – Wed. Feb. 26, 2014, 5:03 pm PST: We have located a pesky bug that was introduced during the recent server migration. The engineering team is on its tail and will have it squashed very soon!

Update – Wed. Feb. 26, 2014, 1:29pm PST: We have made SmartCast more aggressive, meaning it will now send invites to more talents and at a quicker rate than normal until the requested number of auditions is received for a project by the voice seeker.



Voice123 uses a patented technology called SmartCast to bring voice actors and voice seekers together. It matches the best voices to each project and allows those talents to audition first, before inviting those talents that didn’t match as well to audition. For more information, see this article.

Recently, we have received reports of abnormally low invitation rates for some talents. We are currently investigating the causes and checking for bugs, but we believe this is at least partially due to an increase in auditions in January. Part of the SmartCast algorithm compares similar talents to one another to help keep fairness in the marketplace and prevent projects from becoming “cattle calls.”

However, the SmartCast system was NOT intended to prevent talents from participating in the marketplace. For this reason, we are making some changes to the SmartCast system that will prevent the community element from adversely affecting our voice actors. We will update this page as we make those changes and dig deeper into the issue.

Due to the high volume of calls, chats, and emails we are receiving about this issue, you should return to this page for updates rather than contacting our support team.
