My Voice Experience
Hmm. Blaine sounds familiar.
Was it on radio or TV? Was it State Farm Auto Insurance, Bud Light, TJ Maxx, or the Auto Club? Or was it any of hundreds of commercials hes written and voiced for markets from LA to NYC.
With a lifetime around show biz, Blaine Parker is, at heart, a true radio ad geek. Much to his parents chagrin, he counts Dick Orkin, Dan ODay and The Firesign Theater among his formative influences.
For more than a decade, hes spent most days toiling away in a small room with a Neumann, an Aphex, and a big honkin work station. He occasionally comes out to check the meat in the smoker and feed his wifes 19-year old cat.
A national award-winner in both Voiceover and Copywriting, the tin cluttering Blaines shelf includes Radio Mercury, Mobius, Silver Mic, Tesla, ADDY and SCBA.
A chronic writer, Blaine is also the author of two books on radio advertising, and a collaborator on several screenplays circling various levels of development hell.
Blaine lives in Los Angeles with his writer/director wife, Honey. Theyve also begun construction on a mountain-top media retreat outside Park City, UT. Blaine was raised by wolves in Greenwich, Connecticut. This may account for the urbane yet snarky sound. Its in the breeding. Or maybe the water. Perhaps both.
