Voice Description

My voice is thoughtful, and rich. ("Virtuoso", says 3 time Peabody Award Winner, Marjorie VanHalteren). I can lift the words off the page, in a natural, conversational "best friend" way. Additionally, I have several character voices I use for fun, can sound sexy and smooth, or very intellectual for professional presentations. Since my mother was Finnish and my father was Swedish, I can speak in varied dialects.

My Voice Experience

Pinnicle experiences, such as a Silver Microphone at KCBI's voice drama, working as a host/co-host in radio , assisting the direction of a radio play, and finally running my own radio theater troupe kept me inside the voice-over circle. We have opened a podcast for the shows we've done, with broadcasts through our Canadian friends. Currently posted on PRX. Voiced characters for Paws and Tales (Insight for Living), Computer Voice for Glenarye.net (AMS Studios), the answering voice/greetings, and on hold messages for The Paul Mitchel School in Sacramento, California, Marcus Cable, Voiced for Cancer Care, throug Big B Productions.

My Training

Radio in college, drama, chorale work, all contribute to the basis of my voice work. Ongoing classes honed the skills: Bobby McFarren, using voice in musical ways, at the Columbia Jazz Workshop through Chabot Junior College, building character with voice, with John William Galt, Bob Magruder and other voice talent.

Additional Skills

I edit and write my own material, on protools. I use a mac G4 laptop, have several microphones and an ISDN line available to me.
Currently voicing on Radio Sausalito.
I have an indepth knowledge of health care and healthcare issues (registered nurse) and have been told that I have a soothing, calming voice.
