My Voice Experience
I am commonly stopped by people who compliment the quality of my voice.
While I have helped friends (e.g. voicing the public tour of the Bahai north American headquarters) I have not, until now, considered doing professional reads.
Having been a talk show host on Chicago's top two AM radio stations as well as the local NPR station and in my years as a multiple award winning television news host I am well practiced in using my voice to convey authority, moods and intimacy...all without the common stilted and artificial sound typically heard in the industry.
My Training
I have a communications degree from the University of Southern California. I have also taught communcations at Columbia College and was the first visiting Annenberg Scholar at Principia where I taught the virtues and techniques of speaking with confidence and clarity.
For years I have studied professional voices and practiced and adopted techniques in the use of inflection, articulation, dynamics, pause and pacing.
My Studio Equipment
I have access to professional equipment and have a home studio with an AKG D 3300 S mic, Behringer Eurorack UB502 mixer and use Audacity for editing and processing.
Additional Skills
As a television news professional I have won 3 regional Emmys, two Peter Lisagor Awards for Exemplary Journalism from the Society of Professional Journalists, and two first place Associated Press awards. I have also been recognized at such prestigious industry events as the International Film & TV Festival and the International Radio Festival of New York.
