My Training

"School of Hard Knocks"... I have been doing voiceovers and producing commercials for radio stations since 1968. In that time I've gone from grease pencil and tape to digital.

I've picked up many production tricks in that time, and have been highly successful managing production departments of radio stations. I maintain my own home studio capable of producing high quality voiceovers at 96K, 24 Bit.

My Studio Equipment

Recording done in a separate "quiet room" (booth). No extraneous noises (fan noise, room echo etc.)

I record on HDD, AMD dual core 4200, 3 gigs of RAM, 250 gig HDD.

For editing, I use Adobe Audition 3.0 (the latest). In addition I have Adobe Audition 1.5, Cool Edit and SAWPLUS.

For mics I use either an AT 4033a studio mic, or a Studio Projects TB-1 tube mic.

These then run into a VX2000 Voice Processor, which includes compression, EQ, de-ess, tube emulation and more.

Also in the processing chain is an Aphex 204 aural exciter with optical big bottom.

There is also a Symetrix 522 compressor/limiter/gate/ducking unit.

Dual studio CD players.

Several libraries of Production Music and Sound Effects.

I also have an auxiliary computer (HP 1.3 Ghz, 150 gig HDD, 768 megs of RAM), which has Adobe Audition 1.5 and Cool Edit. This can be used in case of failure of my main computer. It goes to the same processing chain, and will produce top quality audio as well.
