I have been told my voice ranges from James Earl Jones to Barry White. Those are the names that come up the most when people hear me speak or recite. I am a spoken word artist and I do performance poetry from my books of original work. Recently I was asked to do the morning announcements at the school I work for and the response has been overwhelming. I'm looking into a career move. I can adapt to almost any situation voice-wise, be it accent or dialect, and have been reading stories, usually in character, for students for more than twenty years.

My Voice Experience

Recently I was asked to anchor the morning announcements at the school I work for. Technically it is the only "voice-over" work that I have done, despite the fact that it was live TV. I hosted a closed circuit radio program playing contemporary jazz under live spoken word poetry.

I write and recite poetry, directed some stage work and encourage young writers and poets to know their work in the same way.

Additional Skills

I have worked in the field of education for nearly 30 years. Sometimes my students tell me I can be very scary, (which can be a good thing when you're dealing with teenagers), and parents have been known to call me the voice of reason.
