It can be soothing and warm perhaps for a bedtime story, upbeat and exciting for a commercial, or full of mystery when building suspense, perhaps for the opening sequence, or trailer for a film.
I can also perform with a strong deep voice resonating with passion, competence and professionalism. I can easily convey understanding and consideration in a heartfelt and masculine fashion.

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

I am from the North of England, but my accent is very much neutral. I can perform with regional dialects if required.
I can imitate Gollum from Lord of the rings, Kermit the Frog, Popeye, Scooby Doo, the electronic voice from a child's "speak & spell" machine, and Sean Connery.
I have done voices for video games including screams, battle cry's and death throes.

My Voice Experience

I recently performed as the voice of a Bose commercial to be used in Bose stores in England. I also recorded the directions for voice translation services for Lionbridge Technologies Inc.
My full time job is as an actor for Rovion, appearing in numerous online commercials such as Anderson Windows, Geissler's supermarkets and many more.
I have performed the audio for many flash pieces viewable on the internet, and appeared in many short films.
Last year I starred as Death in a short film titled Mac's Quest for Tapioca productions.
I am the presenter for the PB96 television series "Pelican Bay On Location". This is shown in Naples and Pelican bay daily on channel 96.
This involves many hours in the recording booth performing narratives conveying excitement and interest.

My Training

My degree is from the University of Plymouth, UK in Oceanography where I trained to be a Commercial Scuba Diver. I moved to the US, and taught Ocean Science to 6th grade at an outdoor education center, and taught regular classes at the Woods Hole Aquarium.
I spent 2 years at John Robert Powers in Boston in acting classes, and am now Production Manager for The Boston Studio, where I do the majority of my voiceover work. As an actor for Rovion, I gather vast experience in the VO field, not only as a performer, but also as a director.
I have performed on stage as an actor, but time was a limiting factor. VO's can be done on my schedule.

My Studio Equipment

I have access to The Boston Studio, a sound proof studio with a shotgun mic, and Adobe onLocation as the recording program.
I usually read from a teleprompter, but also have a music stand if reading large amounts of text.

Additional Skills

As a director, producer and performer, I have experience in front of and behind the camera. I have the ability to study the material to a depth where I understand exactly what the client is looking for, with little direction. I am diligent and a perfectionist.
I am also an athlete, am very motivated and this spirit carries over into my work. I am passionate about performing, and insist on perfection.
I will go the extra step not many people would be willing to take to get the desired result.
I work quickly, but not at the expense of the project.
As a writer, I have a very good knowledge of the English Language, and can emphasize the correct words to add power, or a pause for effect.
I used to give science presentations to large numbers of school children, and volume was key, but not to the point of obnoxiousness. I also know when to talk quieter to lure the listeners in. It is the balance in the delivery that can make a piece sound superb.
