Voice Description

My voice is first of all versatile, beginning from my natural deep and resonant speaking voice. It is then only a short step to broaden, and deepen my voice to bring a James-Earl Jones quality, capable of "The Lion King" Mufasa's dramatic booming voice. Then I can change slightly to a smooth and soothing voice to read children's stories, or a sultry bedroom voice for commercials or to name a few variations on the deeper aspects of my voice.

I also make particular note and can re-create the speaking styles of common archetypes, variously aged middle, high, and college students, how a cocky jock speaks versus a music-snob hipster, a quiet bookworm in the library, an overly-dramatic studying thespian, really any characterization given some background on the character.

My Voice Experience

I have produced a youth's British cockney accent for "A Christmas Carol" and a comedically timed British parliament member for "Out of Order", brought out a spoiled Mike TV in "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", reenacted the suave Grace Kelly from "Brigadoon", brought the deep, righteous fire and fervor voice of John Proctor in "The Crucible", and most recently a troubled young assassin's soft, power-filled pauses voice.

My Studio Equipment

Though I have recorded two albums with my a cappella group from Middlebury College and spent extensive time in the control rooms, with the microphones, and observing the software at work, I do not have my own studio or any equipment myself beyond a low-quality built-in microphone in my laptop.
