My Voice Experience

Ah yes, the experience bit - I have been repeatedly asked, over the past eight years in the UAE to do the voicemail greetings, on hold and phone message recordings for several financial and professional organisations. I also was asked to do the announcements in English for the opening of the Dubai International Financial Centre for the arrival of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Apart from that I was offered the position as news reader on Dubai Channel 33 back in 1982 due to my voice clarity, although I did not pursue this option.

My Training

Apart from drama and English reading of Shakespeare and poetry at grammar school, I have received no other formal training. However, I have been able to mimic accents from about 7 years old and have an ability to find foreign pronounciation easy in French, German, Spanish and Arabic. Aside from this, with my children they would pick a character and I would assume the voice and character for the day.

Additional Skills

At this time in my life I have decided to grab every opportunity that comes my way. I have been complimented on my voice pitch and clarity throughout my life and I have now thought I should put it to use. I am prepared to try all types of voiceover work especially audio books for children as I love character voices. I would also like to read on the radio and voiceover for commercials and news reading.
