Voice Description

I am a 30 year Veteran of Community Theatre in IN, OH, TN and IL. I have been Academically trained in Speech/Theatre Teaching. I have done countless performances and am considered quite the Character Actress! I have done accents from many areas of the Country, including heavy Bronx, Bostonian, NY, Wisconsin and Southern, up to and including several Southern dialects. I have also done many British Comedies and have been told I sound as if I am from London. I also performed the one woman show, "The Search for Intelligent Life in the Universe", all 13 roles, including two men. I also played 10 roles in the Laramie Project at ALT, including one male role. I also mastered a French accent in the play, Red Herring; German accent as Fraulein Kost in Cabaret and will attempt any accent asked to perform. The "zanier" the better and I love it! I am willing to travel within the Metro East areas of St. Louis. I also have radio broadcasting experience in Marion, OH. My grandchildren love to say, "talk like you are from another country!" I am the voice over you are looking for and have been interviewed for radio for many shows in several accents for promotion.

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

British, Austrailian, French, Irish, Scotch, Southern(various dialects from various Southern states), Wisconsin, NY, Boston..all North Eastern accents, German, Arabic, Chicago-ian and will be willing to research ANY dialect you wish and do them successfully! I also do a great "baby" or small child accent. I can be soft and sexy if you wish but no pornogrophy, please. I have also been told when I immitate friends, I sound just like them!

My Voice Experience

As yet, I have not done any actual voice overs but am sure I can suit your needs. This is because as being the character actress that I am, I have had to to many, many accents in more shows than I can remember the names of the roles I've done since the early 70's. I've been interviewed for radio promotions in the voices of the characters I have played. I've also had this desire to be the voice over for the self-check out counter at local stores! I work for A Storage Inn at several of our sites and am told my telephone voice is quite attractive and inviting for prospective customers. I have always wanted to do voice overs with my acting abilities! Why waste a vesatile voice between shows?! When I was in broadcasting in Marion, OH..it was said that my voice over the airwaves was soothing to the audience, especially to the over the road truckers at night on the FM Country channel. BUT..I can be loud and obnoxious and get and audience's attention..if this is what you desire!

My Training

I trained academically at IPFW and majored in Speech/Theatre Teaching. Many of my first roles were in Musical Theater, and then..I found straight comedy and this is where I have basically remained, except for a few Musicals, such as Cabaret along the way. I was trained at WMRN in Marion, OH on the job after the station manager was given a tape which I submitted. I was live on the AM dial and recorded the news on the FM dial. I have done several radio spots promoting up-coming events also TV spots and interviews. I have been professionally trained as a singer and actress and have done many plays at the Community Theatre level; some for guest directors from NY and Washington DC. I have also directed several shows at the Community Theatre level.

My Studio Equipment

While I do not possess my own studio, I am an quick study and do have resources I could access to learn more. My radio broadcasting was back in 1982. I recorded the news to apply to the programmed Country FM dial, then went back to the live AM studio to do my morning show. I'm quite sure things are more computerized now, but I am willing and anxious to learn.

Additional Skills

I have been in the customer service field for many years, in between my 22 years of being a Mental Health Professional. I have managed stores such as Musicland and have a professional standing in the community. And, working as a Support Manager for A Storage Inn, not only do possess the skills to present myself professionally and be verbally correct and polite on the phone, I can also handle correctly and professionally the somewhat irrate customer over the phone. I also sound younger than my "young" 56 years. I am also an Equestrian and horse owner. I have planned benefit events in this area and also many events theatrically. I am calm, yet determined and ethical in whatever I take on..especially when it comes to any endeavor I pursue. Having an oppportunity to do voice overs has been somewhat of a part time, retirement dream and have also entertained the idea of getting back into broadcasting.
