My Voice Experience

My initial interest in utilizing my voice professionally came when a co-working told me "If you ever need work, you'd make a ton of money with a 1-900 number!" I have been told all of my life I have a great speaking voice. This continues today whenever I leave a message for anyone, positive comments are received. I have been a professional training specialist where I gave verbal presentations that had to be engaging. I also recorded on-hold messages for a company in Virginia Beach several years ago. I am looking to break into this profession utilzinzg my wit and God given talent.

My Training

My college degress in computer science I am sure is of no value here but it did afford me the opportunity to become a training specialist for EDS, a global technical giant. I had many workshops in the training venue on how best to utilize my voice to be professional and authoratative about the material presented all the while being smooth and engaging. I have also trained my singing voice professionally for the past 5 years and sing with several groups as well as solo.

My current full-time job is performing as the buisness manager for a dental practice. It pays the bills - it also requires that I interact with people on a daily basis, answering phones and leaving messages. I have an uncanny ability to calm and engage people who are frightened or angry depending on the circumstance.
