My Training

I studied and trained for Voice Overs with Voice Coaches/Creative Voice Development Group (CVDG) in Schenectady NY. Following completion of my training, I attended their Advanced Marketing Expos in 2007 and 2008.

Before taking the training for Voice Overs, I received my bachelors degree in biology, and then followed that with an additional year and a half of training in a medical field. I also have a background in art having studied it in college, and worked as a graphic artist in a small studio for a couple of years before starting my family.

Additional Skills

I've spent most of my years working in sales of one form or another, where my communication skills are put to the test, daily. Inflection, tone, enthusiasm, listening and speaking skills are all vital; and phone communication, which makes up a large portion of sales, (where the obvious visual cues are absent, similar to doing VO) are a significant part of what I do...trying to present information while conveying a sense of confidence, understanding, and sincerity/believability, so the client feels safe, trusting and reassured.

Raising my children has also given me another set of voices...the nurturing mom, but also the authoritative mom. The one who has to be able to soothe the tears, calm the fears, and treat the hurt, but also become the disciplinarian, the teacher, and the strong one. All these require different voices, at different times.
