My Voice Experience
I have been performing since I was 3 and fell in love with Annette Funicello. Much to my mother's dismay, I sang into the handle of my toy upright vacuum cleaner instead of pushing it around the room.
Growing up, my girlfriend Kathy and I spent long hours inventing personalities... how they walked talked, spoke, what they did for a living. We intertwined them with all of our play.. asked them questions... as young women, even consulted them for decissions... "I wonder what Mrs. Stence would say?" And then Mrs. Stence would surface and give us her hillarious advice. (Mrs. Stense has an underbite and talkks with a lisp... she is the leader for Cinciniatti's girlscout troop 6667 .)
Most of my voiceover work has been straight copy for jewelry companies or shopping centers.. but I would love to do character work as I do on stage.
I attended Illinois Wesleyan University as a Dramatics Major and Music Minor.
I have sung professionally and play as well as teach several instruments.
I began voice over work as a musician singing back up and then working as a lead singer in an English Rock Band in the late 60's early 70's... opened for Ozzi in London at a club called "Mother's" back then and have done several commercial voice over spots over the years including being the voice for Jewel Box Jewelry.
I am currently working on stage and in film in the Pacific Northwest and teaching acting and doing some directing at my local theater here on Bainbridge.
I am always studying and am currently working with Dinah Manoff, Chris Soldevilla and Darragh Kennan. I study voice with Erich Parce.
My Studio Equipment
My current home studio is appropriate for audition purposes only at this time.
I love kids and write plays for children, many of which have been produced in North Carolina as well as Washington.
One of my strongest suits as an actor is developing believable characters that are very different from one another and often I go unrecognised as myself even from people who know me.
