My Voice Experience

I was once approached by Bob Condos, from Impact Media in 2006.
He noticed my performance in a local on-screen singing contest, called "So You Want To Be A Star". (It was a format like "American Idol".)

He was rather impressed with my conversational & singing skills, and asked me if I had ever tried doing Voice-Over work. At that time, I had no idea what it was.

It was explained to me, and I was asked to come up with some commercial ideas for a local car dealership. I wrote down about 5 of them, and recorded 2 or 3 of them at Impact Media's on-site studio. I was never told if they were ever used, but I know the image they were interested in was the standard hillbilly/hick-types, complete with the "false Southern" accents, the "Gol-Durns" and the "Yeat-Yets".

However, in various productions I have been involved in, I have been required to study various accents and vocal type-casts, which is fairly easy for me, considering that studying voices is something of a hobby of mine, and has been as long as I can remember.

My Training

I studied Drama in H.S. and College.

I have participated in various Community Theatre plays & performances, such as:

-42nd Street: 1990
-Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat: 1991
-Finian's Rainbow: 1992
-Play It Again, Sam: 1998 (I was given a glowing review in the Oroville Mercury-Register)

I performed in the annual "Best Of Broadway" Fundraiser, in Sacramento in 1993, 1994 & 1996. I was mentioned in the Sacramento Bee's review, in 1996.

I briefly tried my hand at writing public announcements for KRBS- Oroville, CA. for about 2 months.

My Studio Equipment

I have no studio, nor have I easy access to one.

My main time spent in any studios were strictly for recording purposes- mostly music.

Additional Skills

I have been performing publicly (singing) off & on for roughly 30 yrs., mainly through bands & choirs.

I am fluent in North American, British & Australian English, and European French.
I know some broken Italian, and bits of a few other languages.

I have studied voices since childhood- not in formal classes, but merely by observing TV shows, videos, cartoons, and actual people. Over the years, I have honed many of these voices/accents/dialects and used them for various purposes, from the trivial to the significant.

Most recently, I participated in the "Read Across America" program at Plumas Ave. Elementary School in Oroville, CA. as a Volunteer Reader.
I was featured on the front page of the Oroville Mercury-Register, on March 1, 2008.

I have been involved with many aspects of acting from an early age. I was involved in Drama in both HS and College. In HS, I was in Speech & Debate in my Senior year, and won or placed in almost every single competition in which I was entered (1992-1993).

Concerning singing bits: I have perfect pitch; a 3 1/2 octave range, which is centered around the 1st Tenor area; I have sung in several languages, including Spanish, European French & Italian. I have extensive experience in singing (30 yrs.), both Solo and in group/Choir settings.

I am currently developing my own band- "The Legion Project".
