I specialize in documentary films, where my youthful voice and sensitivity to emotional context comes into full play. My voice for documentary films etc. can be warm and personal - I can be very expressive without using standard and overused patterns of voice-over modulation which one hears so often that it gets irritating. I also specialize in character voices, as I have an extensive background in acting. I can modulate my voice and come up with various voice characters - squeaky, raspy, growly, high-pitched, smooth, husky etc.

I am a native speaker of English, Hindi and Marathi, and speak basic Sanskrit. My first language is English, in which I am conversant with the American, Indian, and British accents, and can do international (eg. Spanish, French) and regional (eg. Southern, hillbilly, Indian-regional, Bengali) accents for character voices.

My extensive experience ranges from television info-tainment series and corporates, to docu-films, radio spots, TV promos, animation films and sound-and-light shows. Some highlights:

• Narrator voice for Vonage India web commercials (recording in LA).
• Narrator for Nokia International Presentation at Sweden.
• Various characters for many TV promos for the National Geographic Channel, including dubbing into Hindi.
• Multiple characters for a play about Saint Paul.
• Multiple characters in sound-and-light show versions of various short fairy tales, for children.
• Character of Captain Hook (comical chief villain) in a flash animation film adaptation of Disney’s Peter Pan, for American audiences.
• Sang and acted in many rock operas / musicals, especially as St. Peter in 'Jesus Christ Superstar'.

My Training

I have an extensive background in theater and acting. I have also worked with internationally renowned voice master instructor and theater personality Rashid Ansari, and have taught classes under him in Voice Modulation and Public Speaking. I have also worked briefly with Rafael Lopez-Barrantes, voice teacher and co-founder of Archipelago Theatre USA & France.
I have been trained in Indian classical singing for over 10 years, and have performed live as a singer. I have other professional experience as a sound designer-engineer, A&R executive with a reputed music label, and a TV producer-director.
