Over the years as a professional translator/interpreter/dancer, the one aspect of my work (besides others) that has received equivocal admiration and praise has been my voice. Having been born & brought up in Mumbai, India, I have been exposed to several languages at the same time since childhood...English - my medium of education, Tamil - my mother tongue, Hindi - language of the streets of Mumbai & Marathi - the regional language in the state of which Mumbai is capital. Later on , I have added to the list of languages in which I am fluent by learning to speak French & Italian. Each of these languages requires a unique blend of sounds & I am proud that I have succeeded in mastering them all.
The narrative voice is my forte, sounding professional, commanding & smooth flowing all at the same time.

My Voice Experience

I am a Bharatanatyam Dancer (Classical style of Sounth India) & have been an MC for countless Dance shows in India, expalining to the audience the details of the recital, of each item & the general background of this divine art form.
I have been lucky to do the above in the languages of English, French (while studying at the Alliance Francaise de Bombay & Italian (while studying at the Universita' per Stranieri at Perugia). My voice transcends smoothly from one language to another, never confusing them in my mind. The listener is always sure of hearing a native speaker & is often surprised that my origins are Indian & that all above mentioned langauges are foreign to me.
I am also a trained singer in the classical form of Karnatic Music of southern India. I have given voice support to my Teacher for the 7 CDs that she has cut of dance related songs. My voice can be heard giving the introduction for the CDs
