Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

I am in the midwest and sound like it. That is, I sound generic enough to be heard anywhere! I do a decent Southern accent (not too much drawl...just enough to sound native).

My Voice Experience

I have voiced hundreds of commercials over the years, mostly for radio. My spots always stood out and I frequently had clients ask for my production. I approach every script as an individual work that deserves it's own attention to detail. Straight sales spots, concert spots requiring extensive production, phone systems, message on hold...these are all places that my voice has been used over the years.

My Training

As a musician, I have a keen sense of timing. I find this to be very important in getting the best read of a script.

My background in broadcasting has more importantly taught me what NOT to do in a commercial. (Too many jocks just rip and read and too many sales managers think they can write copy!)

I have taken improv classes at my local theater, trained with voice coaches in Chicago (currently being coached by Sherri Berger), coordinated production for a regional radio station on a contract basis, and participate in online forums to stay abreast of the happenings in the voiceover business.

My Studio Equipment

I use an RE20 microphone to a dbx mic pre. That signals goes to my Mbox interface. I use ProTools LE and Apple Logic. When necessary, I can sweeten the sound of any production with Ozone mastering plugins. SourceConnect is an option for live delivery to your studio and I can connect via ISDN through Digifon's bridging service.

My studio environment is carefully laid out to foster an excellent monitoring environment through professional reference monitors.

I am able to send audio down the phone line for you to monitor while I record, if that is required.

I have fast Internet and an ftp server if you prefer to download finished product. As a certified network engineer as well, I like to say that my stuff "just works".
