My Voice Experience

The experience I have is basically non-acting. However, as a trial attorney, President of a few associations, and a father, I have had an ongoing voice-acting experience. When I am at trial, I need to engage in a certan style of speaking that will match or mirror my audience, which is either a Judge or a Jury. In order not to lose their attention, I need to keep my case (or story) interesting, which usually requires voice inflection, pauses, as well as tone and volume adjustments.

When I am presenting or leading an association meeting, I need to present an air of confidence and authority, without being condenscending.

When I am with my children, I am limited only by my imagination. When I am reading bed time stories, I speak in a variety of accents and can do spooky halloween voices exceptionally well. I may read the same book with a British accent one night and a Southern drawl the next just to see how well my kids enjoy the same book. Sometimes, when I am reading a series of books with the same characters - I use a variety of individual voices for each character, and often create unique voice attributes for one character.
