I have experience with productions made for broadcasting including "A Christmas Carol" in which I played all of the female roles plus Tiny Tim and a few male characters. Produced at the University of Delaware's WVUD radio station, it has has been aired locally and on EWTN Global radio for two consecutive years. As a news reporter, I also had to produce a weekly radio show in addition to writing and editing the copy.
I graduated Magna Cum Laude, Degree with Distinction from the University, with a BA in English, Film Concentration, and a minor in Theatre. I also studied Advanced Acting including Voice, Movement and Stage Performance at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City. My favorite roles were the classics, such as Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, Isabella in Measure for Measure and Queen Anne in Richard III. I also enjoy lighter comedies and solo performances. One of my favorite roles was having the stage to myself in "Clear Glass Marbles." There's nothing better than telling a story! Another highlight was narrating an original play while the stage performers were acting out the scenes. I was the lone voice for two hours! As a writer, I studied screenwriting at Act One: Writing for Hollywood in Los Angeles and advanced screenwriting classes at the University of Penn.
Sorry, no studio equipment.
As a professional writer, I have worked on copy at a newspaper. Currently, I am a grant writer and fundraiser for a nonprofit organization. I have also written three one-act plays, and two were staged, one in a play festival. I have also written several short stories, one published twice, and two finalists in national competitions. One of my five completed movie scripts was optioned. For sheer fun, I am currently acting and writing scripts for murder mysteries as a volunteer since the productions benefit state parks throughout Delaware. (Plus I absolutely love the estate and grounds we use for performances!)
My love for dance keeps me on my toes (yes, bad pun intended) with ballet classes.
