Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects
I'm from Iowa where the accent is neutral, but I love being silly with my nieces and my dog and imagine myself as a cartoon character. I always want to read things to people out loud because I worry that they don't read it with the inflection and thought for which it was written whether it be serious, sarcastic or goofy.
My Voice Experience
My teacher would ask me to read stories to the class as an elementary student. I've told the life changing story of the greatest inventor of our time in a 30 minute program I wrote and produced (Dean Kamen - inventor of the first diabetic insulin pump, the mobile dialysis machine and the Segway).
I welcome and encourage triathletes and runners to the finish line of one of the greatest accomplishments of their life at Rock n Roll Marathons. Commercial type work includes brands such as Nestle, Marriott, Sports Authority, Brooks running shoes, Garmin and Bed Bath and Beyond.
My Training
I studied political science and journalism at the University of Iowa and University of Ottawa in Ottawa, Ontario Canada.
For 4 years I hosted, wrote, produced and narrated over 200 television programs for a national cable network. I was awarded two Emmy's and 3 nominations for my work there.
Currently I work as a sports announcer at various events around the country including the Rock n Roll marathons and TriRock triathlons.
I've sung the national anthem at sporting events, and presented to college students.
My Studio Equipment
Microphone is the AKG C 3000 and the Electro-Voice RE20 thru Digidesign MBox and Apple Soundtrack Pro
Additional Skills
I love to bake. As a host and producer for a tv station I've researched, interviewed and written stories on everything from New York Fashion week and the Oscars to CES, and Luxury cigars in Honduras. I've traveled around the world studying
