Voice Description

My normal speaking voice is soft and easy on the ears. When reading aloud to children, I am great at building suspense with my voice. I can also evoke humor and portray humorous situations with my voice, in such a way to make the children laugh. My voice can sound excited, professional, angry, happy, neutral, and everything in between.

I have been told I speak with a neutral Midwestern dialect. I could probably pull off a Northern or Southern accent, as I have spent half of my life in Minnesota and half in Missouri.

My Voice Experience

I am a teacher, looking for a career change, and I love to read aloud! I am just starting out in the field of voice overs, and am willing to try any type of voice over. I have been hired on Voice123 a few times. I've also been working with a publisher in England, doing various projects--singing, poems, and narrating children's stories.

My Training

I attended a community ed class taught by a voice over talent, and have about fifteen years of practice reading aloud to children.

My Studio Equipment

Audio-Technica AT2020 USB Condenser USB Microphone, mic stand, popper stopper, and mic clip. For recording software, I use Audacity.
