Voice Description

My voice is clear and I have an English Lancashire accent which has a slight hint of Norfolk which I inherited in my teenage years. I read aloud often in class throughout my degree and also reading to my children. Whilst reading stories I add accents for character voices. my voice is upbeat and fun, girl-next-door, kind of voice. I once worked for a brief time on an adult phone line in which I had to pretend to be sexy, I was very successful in this but it no longer fit into my lifestyle. I can be formal or informal depending on what is required.

My Voice Experience

I have had small voice over parts but nothing professional at the moment, all semi-professional. Small parts such as vocal introductions to presentations for colleagues at university. Also a lifetime of experience of reading to children and reading aloud in seminars and lectures when studying Shakespeare.

My Training

I am studying for my English degree at the moment which requires a certain amount of reading aloud as different characters from all walks of literature, not just shakespeare. I am also a mum and have been for 16 years which I believe is intense training for one's voice.

My Studio Equipment

I have a laptop and iphone on which I have been emailing voice files, but that is my limit at this time. There is a recording studio not far from where I live in which my daughter recorded a CD which I could probably use.
