Voice Description

Warm and deep for narrations, smooth and professional for presentations or voicemail messages. Heartfelt and conversational for "one on one" style recordings. I am proficient in the following dialects: British, Irish, Scottish, and Russian. I can also do the self check out machine voices from the grocery store. Yes, that means I can sound like a computer! I can also sound like one of the munchkins from the Wizard of Oz, or Alvin from Alvin and the Chipmunks for cartoon voiceovers. My singing voice ranges from 1st Tenor to 1st Soprano.

My Voice Experience

In the mid 1980s I appeared occasionally on a Cleveland Ohio radio station, 100.7 FM WMMS on their morning drive program, the "Buzzard Morning Zoo." From 1990 to the present, I have recorded corporate jingles and songs for motivational sales events. I have recorded a variety of messages on hold and voicemail greetings as well as a variety of informational recordings and commercials for local churches. All of my recording experience has taken place in the Cleveland Ohio area.

My Training

My voiceover experience came primarily as a result of my work in live theatre and as a disc jockey. While I've had no formal training in voice overs per se, I have studied the performing arts in college at Cleveland State University, and have been performing (or directing) in a live or pre-recorded environment since childhood. Again, all of this has taken place in the Cleveland Ohio area.

Additional Skills

With regard to voice overs, I am regarded as a "one take wonder", so studio time is minimized.

I have regular access to professional digital recording equipment and am able to turn a recording around within 24 hours, or send an overnight CD at the client's request.

I am a non-smoker who is quite health conscious. Therefore, I feel that my voice is a reliable commodity which I work to protect and don't take for granted.

I have done a wide variety of singing, acting and directing as well as quite a bit of creative writing, so I have experience in taking direction as well as wrapping my mind around the "big picture" of a project.
