My Voice Experience
I was born in England and brought up in India, surrounded by many different languages, dialects and accents. I learned to mimic, act and sing at a very early age to amuse my siblings and parents. My early stage experiences include roles in Pantomimes such as 'Sinbad', 'Puss in Boots', Alladin & The Forty Thieves' & 'Cinderella'. Later I played and sang the part of Eliza Doolittle in 'My Fair Lady', various leads in British Comedies, Lady Macbeth in 'Macbeth' and played several singing roles in 'Godspell'.
I narrated a film for The European Council in 2005 and currently record 'talking books' for the CNIB as a volunteer. I have recorded two children's books, one of 18th century England and the other set in a refugee camp in Afghanistan, using the appropriate accents. I have further completed three other novels as well as text books, recording announcements for the CNIB, magazines and other various publications. I have a demo CD of clips from two of the novels.
My Training
I began English drama and elocution at the age of 9, and acted in many stage produtions as a child and a young adult.
I attended 'Finishing School' in Switzerland, where I learned French, and then college in London, England, where I continued to study English & French Literature, including the works of the major English and French playwrites.
I moved to Canada in 1993, but was never able to rid my dreams of 'performing'! So in 2000 I quit the family firm and after looking at various possibilities, I spent a year at the National Institute for Broadcasting in Toronto.

Additional Skills
I have used my voice, theatre and language skills for volunteer work in India, where I tutored blind children in English, using tape recorders, reading them stories aloud and teaching them songs and hymns.
My hobbies are singing jazz, horse-riding, swimming, reading and I learned to fly in 1996.
In my 'corporate' years, I made many presentations and speeches. I am able to re-write news items for TV and have made a 'demo' tape as a newsreader.
