My Voice Experience

When in Holland I remember one of my clients asked me to "incarnate" mother earth with my voice...it was for a documentary on ecology and I was a wise mature woman...I liked that job and they were very pleased too. I did all kinds of things, from inviting people to smoke Dutch cigars to tell them how to use word in their computer to put voice to animated charaacters, to thrillers...A lot of dubbing is done in Spain. I always dubbed myself in the films I did - some of them directed by Almodovar - though he always used direct sound, and the last film I interpreted I had to dub myself into English (the original language of the film), Spanish and Catalan - both my languages...I also dubbed many women, from young to middle aged and old. One of the things that was real fun too was to perform the great Valle Inclan's play "Divinas Palabras" in the radio. I was part of the Unión de Actores de Radio Nacional de España"...my beginnings were in Barcelona, when I read books for the blind, those ranged from novels, poetry collections and some times even boring treatises on economy, but I loved beig alone in the cabin, looking at the bright sound outside the window.

I have tanslated and ingterpreted in many different Congresses adn Conference spaces, besides giving my own conferences in universities and other cultural centres. I am therefore a well informed person about the culture of nowadays and the past, particulary in what concerns artistic, humanistic, social and political issues.
