Voice Description
Natural 'talk' voice is light and friendly.
More resonant and polished 'radio' voice is a couple steps deeper. It sounds authoritative while retaining a lot of warmth. Suits audio guides, voice overs and more formal interviews.
Because I am bilingual, I can switch effortlessly from English to Chinese (Mandarin). Although English is my stronger language, I was brought up speaking Chinese with excellent enunciation.

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects
My spoken English has a generic American accent that is hard to place.
My spoken Chinese does not have the Taiwanese accent.
My Voice Experience
I started getting free-lance voice work after working as a program host at Radio Taiwan International. While I have done some ads, the bulk of my voice work jobs have been museum audio guides.
I've done work for the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, the Sanyi Wood Sculpture Museum and the Museum of Gold in Jing-gua-shih. All three are repeat-clients.
My Training
I majored in Studio Art at Amherst College. Since then, I've moved back to Taiwan and worked as a reporter, first at the Taipei Times, then at Radio Taiwan International. As a program host and news reader at RTI I've worked a lot to improve my voicing skills.
My Studio Equipment
At home, I use a zoom H2 recorder as a USB microphone. It is connected to my laptop where I use Audacity and Garage Band for editing.
Additional Skills
In addition to voice work, I bring other skills to the table.
My clients are loyal because I provide culturally-sensitive, high-quality translation between Chinese and English, can supply additional writing where necessary, quick turnaround times and delivers the audio by MP3 via the web already cleaned-up and organized.
