My Voice Experience
When I was just a little kid, back in the sixties, my friend had an old tube driven reel-to-reel tape recorder which provided us with hours of
entertainment producing our own "radio shows" complete with sound effects, soudtracks etc. I asked my parents for a more up to date machine and they bought me a cassette recorder (bummer!!!).
I've always been interested in voiceover work and currently work in radio; producing commercials and programs, hosting an Oldies Show and Managing Operations for a six station cluster in North Carolina. I have been singing and playing guitar since I was a teen and have performed on stage in productions of "Oliver", "The Music Man", "Fiddler on the Roof" and "On The Town". For a few years back in the early 90's I worked for the Southeastern Ski Area's Association providing daily, live telephone ski conditions reports to over 150 radio stations across the country. Since I began working at radio station WATA in Boone, North Carolina in 1992 I have DJ'd for Adult Contemporary, Southern Gospel, Talk and Top 40 formats as well hosting a Country Music morning show for over seven years. I have voiced over 1000 commercials and narrated over 500 features. I currently hold the position of Program Director for two of the six stations in our cluster as well performing as Operations Manager for all six stations and hosting a show featuring Top 40 Hits from the 50's, 60's and 70's. I enjoy expressing myself with enough varied inflection to invoke an emotional response from my listeners as well as being able to provide the neutral yet interested delivery required by scripts such as News. Over the years I have provided freelance work for voicemail and on hold messaging and produced soundtracks for a variety of presentations. I am an expert at digital audio production and computer networking. Thanks for your consideration; I look forward to working with you!
