Voice Description

My native speaking voice is British. I move between the uk and usa however, so my voice over repertoire includes regional accent types both american and english. My natural speaking voice is a deep baritone that can reach extreme lower bass registers. I'm also a professional singer, so upper registers and falsetto are part of my range to.

Clients tend to use me when they need an upscale heavy hitter style male voice. Imaging repetoire is flexible, and includes many stylistic variations (see below).

I have over 20 years of Industry experience and literaly thousands of sucessfull reads.

My voice imaging chops range from studious to silly to sexy, and points inbetween.

My Voice Experience

I have over two decades doing voice imaging for clients. My voice over experience includes 12 years as a radio voice air talent for parallel one stations such as WBCN Boston, WXKS (KISS 108') Boston, and WAAF Boston.
I also have 4 years of radio production managerial with WBCN (as production director), and Kiss 108 (as assistant production director).

My voiceover history includes extensive spot and promo reads for TV and Radio, narration for corporate product and promotional presentations, and voicework for computer voice recognition software systems.

My Training

I started my professional career as a voice talent right out of college. I entered a 'DJ for a day' contest at WAAF FM in Boston, won it and got a job offer for a weekend announcer slot from the program director the following week.

After that I moved into full time radio host spots at, over time, all three of the largest Boston FM outlets; WAAF, WBCN and Kiss 108.

Radio talent are required to do daily spot reads both live and taped as part of their job, -so over a 15 year period I voiced several thousand commercials! Since these tend to be random assignments, you learn to be very adaptive, and very adept at quickly dialing in the nuances and timing of a specific read.

Eventually the voice imaging jobs became frequent enough for me to consider this a full time occupation, And thats what I've been doing ever since.
