Voice Description

I adapt to whatever the situation calls for.
My style consists of a "frankenstein-like" collaboration of voices. Mel Blanc is my main inspiration and why I feel like I was born to do this. if i had to describe my voice in one word it would be espansive.
Low, mid range, and high pitch are optional for me. Deep, sensual, goofy, stern, light, nonchalant, a thug, a saint, nasty nice, funny for the kids, and also for the adults just like a good Pixar movie all at the right times. Unless, of course the voice over job will allow me to be random with it and use, say a serious boring voice for a chucky cheese commercial that would normally be exciting. I enjoy random.

My Voice Experience

My experience is derived from life in general. I feel that life is the best teacher. I am an observational voiceover artist and I love to step in another person's shoes for a minute and literally become that person.
just being in theater has me engrossed in voice acting. it gives me the opportunity "play" with my voice and just basically seeing what I can do.
I'm usually the one who always gets asked "hey dre, do that one voice again". It never gets old.
I feel I have a natural ability to mimic, and theater has brought that out of me. For a family reunion I was "volun-told" to be in the talent show and do impressions of anyone i wanted to. I just asked for requests because I was so nervous I couldn't think of all the voices I was capable of doing.
In English class, when it came time to read out loud, the part of Julius Caesar was played by Sean Connery, Bernie Mac, etc. Every day was someone new.

My Training

Most of my theatrical career was in highschool, where i was in plays and religiously involved in the Thespian Society.
My experience consisted of beginning, intermediate, and advanced acting. Next, was Diablo Valley College where i virtually lived in the theater.
I Played a loud, obnoxious rendition of Lieutenant Rooney straight out of Brooklyn in 'Arsenic and Old Lace'.
Performed several lead roles in the musical "Smokey Joe's Cafe". Most of those songs you hear when you're put on hold . My directors and class instructors guided me with proper techniques as far as voice control and capablity awareness.
