My Voice Experience

As a child and adolescent I knew every jingle and commercial script from TV by heart and would often recite them spontaneously at home and at school. The people I was performing for always smiled and recognized the product or service that I was, in effect, advertising at the time.

As a young adult I also find myself reciting commercial dialogue off the top of my head while at work or in public with friends to get a smile or laugh...provided the commercial is one of some comedic value. Saturday Night Live parody commercials are frequently hysteria producing bits.

My Training

I have no official training in the field, however, I have people tell me quite often that I should, "be on the radio," or "do commercials." I find the Geico commercials on TV to be hilarious and wonder when it might be me saying something off the wall like, "So I put on some tangerine lip gloss and answered the door."

Additional Skills

Being in retail customer service for an electronics giant, I am "on stage" about every two minutes when a new buying group approches. Regardless of my mood at the moment I always speak to my customers with a positive, happy, friendly, and helpful manner that generally produces a smile from them. I describe it as my "gameshow host" persona and pull it off flawlessly day after day. My customer service survey comments are wonderful and I am frequently commended by my supervisors for providing what we call "world-class" customer service.
