Voice Description

My voice has good fluctuation and clarity. Although I am from New England, I am able to speak with or without the accent! I believe my voice is best used for narrations and presentations although I would like to expand my abilities. I am able to speak with a 'cartoonish' voice (For example, Eric Cartman's mom in 'South Park')and feel my voice to be very 'yielding' and adaptable to most types of recording assignments.

My Voice Experience

My first experience was at my current job. I work at a software company and was asked to do a voice over demonstration CD of our software. I needed to learn how to pronounce various technical terms and be able to speak that language with fluidity. I am a pianist as well and applied my knowlege of 'phrasing' music to the narration.
Once these CDs were finished, they went out to all prosective clients, via mail or passing them out at different exhibits.

My Training

I took a singing workshop class. Although I am not a singer, I was able to apply what I learned in terms of breathing, towards the narration project. I learned how to sing or more importantly, speak from the diaphragm and therefore have great projection. Many people have asked me if I am a singer because of this.
I also took a class called, 'Such a Voice'. This class included reading from a script, whether it was a narration, TV commercial for coffee or a professional presentation. We learned relaxation techniques and how to use our 'own' voice.

I am very interested in pursuing a career in voice overs. I believe I have a natural gift and would like to share it with others. I am an extremely driven and persistant individual when it comes to getting projects completed. I am very reliable and always strive for perfection or the closest thing to it. I am fortunate that I am able to use this talent at work, but I welcome the opportunity to make this a full time voiceover career.
