My Voice Experience

I fell into voiceover work when I met my husband as we hit the millenium - although I wasn't brave enough to try it for real until a year later. He's a radio production guy, and constantly looking for female voices in a very male-oriented business.

Ta-da! That's where I came in. Turns out I had a knack for cutting commerials. Club spots, college advertisements, medical office commericals, the hottest new restaurant, Hemorrhoid cream - I was your girl.

It lead to voicing commericals for the cluster of 5 stations in Providence, to voicing imaging liners for their Top 40 station AND a sister station outside the market. I've been on commercials in other outside market sister stations and have discovered, hey, this is actually kind of fun and I'm pretty good at it!

So 10 years later, I'm still at it, voicing what they beg for me, err save for me, to do. I've also spent some time copywriting (I decided to take my turn working at the station for a few years in the business side of things and had the opportunity to write A LOT.).

My Training

I'm also a singer, but not professionally - done some college a capella back in the day - who has time to sing anything but the Wheels on the Bus now with two little kids? :)

My Studio Equipment

I work in a basic home studio with digital recording capabilities. AKG microphone, Mackie soundboard, Adobe Audition multi-track recording software. I also have the ability to coerce my uber talented husband to do production for me.
